What is UPSC NDA exam? +

NDA exam selects candidates for the National Defence Academy (Army, Navy, Air Force wings) and Naval Academy. It is one of the youngest entry points into the Indian Armed Forces, open to 12th pass students aged 16.5–19.5.

Can girls apply for UPSC NDA? +

Yes. Since 2021, following a Supreme Court order, female candidates are eligible to apply for UPSC NDA and NA examination. All three wings (Army, Navy, Air Force) are open to women.

What is the NDA salary during training? +

NDA cadets receive a stipend of ₹56,100/month during training. After commissioning as Lieutenant, basic pay is ₹56,100 (Level 10) with substantial allowances. Total package: ₹80,000–₹1,00,000/month.

What is the SSB Interview for NDA? +

Services Selection Board (SSB) is a 5-day evaluation covering Screening Test (Day 1), Psychological Tests (Day 2), Group Testing Officer Tasks (Days 3–4) and Personal Interview (Day 4–5). About 25% clear the first screen; final selection is much lower.
