What is UPSC CAPF exam? +

UPSC CAPF exam recruits Assistant Commandants (Group A Gazetted Officers) for BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB. It is the officer-level entry into India's central para-military forces.

What is the CAPF Assistant Commandant salary? +

Pay Level 10: Basic ₹56,100. In-hand salary with all allowances (MSP, ration, accommodation, uniform, etc.) is approximately ₹85,000–₹1,10,000/month.

What is the CAPF Paper-II format? +

Paper-II is a 3-hour descriptive exam (200 marks) covering Essay, Precis Writing, Comprehension and Analytical/Situational questions. It tests written English and analytical thinking.

How is CAPF different from CDS? +

CDS selects for Army/Navy/Air Force (three defence services) with SSB interviews at age up to 25. CAPF selects for Para-Military forces (BSF, CRPF, etc.) with service conditions more like police than military.
