Eligibility Criteria for IIT Hyderabad M.Tech 2026

Candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility:

• Qualifying Degree: B.E./B.Tech/B.Des/B.Arch/M.Sc/MCA or equivalent (4-year BS also accepted).

• Minimum Marks: First Class or minimum 60% marks / 6.0 CGPA (relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates – 10% for OBC, 15% for SC/ST in most cases).

• GATE Requirement: Valid GATE 2026 score is mandatory for most candidates.

• IIT Graduates Exemption: Candidates with B.Tech from any IIT with CGPA ≥ 8.0 are exempted from GATE but must appear for a personal interview.

Final-year students can apply provisionally based on 7th semester marks.
